Make a difference –
Volunteer with
wHoo Cares

We help people stop feeling isolated, lonely and cut off from their local community. We know that transport is an issue on the peninsula and we get people to medical appointments, take them shopping and even out to local clubs and groups so they can expand their social circle. We also pop in for a cup of tea and a chat, or help out with practical things like picking up a prescription or bringing fish and chips to someone who is house bound.

Could you help someone like Thelma get to
Coffee Morning?

We need Volunteer Drivers to help our Partners get out and about.
  • do you have a car?
  • do you have a spare hour or two?
  • would you like to make a real difference to YOUR community by helping someone get out more?

If you're interested in volunteering or would just like to find out more about what being a volunteer is all about, call the office today on 01634 272138 or drop us an email at volunteer@whoocares.org.uk

Here's what some of the people we support have to say...

‘I love seeing my volunteer, she really brightens my week. It makes such a lovely change to have someone to sit and have a natter with’ - G in Grain.

‘I wouldn’t have been able to get to the supermarket without my volunteer. I used to rely on the local shops but it’s very expensive when you are on a pension. We always have a lot of fun together. - D in Stoke

‘I look forward to coffee morning – it’s the highlight of my week!’ T in Hoo

And here's what some of our Community Supporters (volunteers) have to say...

‘I enjoy volunteering with wHoo Cares because I feel like I am giving something back to the community I live in’ - S from Chattenden

‘I love it, I really enjoying feeling like I have made people’s lives a little bit happier, and I feel like I’m a better person for it. I really look forward to seeing the people I visit, and know they look forward to seeing me too.’ - V in Hoo

‘I was dreading retirement, as I am very bubbly and outgoing. Joining wHoo Cares has given me a new sense of purpose as I love helping people and being out and about in the community’ - R in High Halstow

Do something amazing, and volunteer with wHoo Cares today. Full training is given, and there are further development opportunities available for anyone wishing to expand their knowledge.
